Writing and Tabletop Activities

Our writing stations are located in a convenient area at our center. Pen, pencils, crayons, papers, and other writing materials are made easily accessible for our children. Children are encouraged and given opportunity to exercise their fine motor skills by coloring, drawing, and writing.

This activity helps children learn letter formation skills, a sense of left to right directionality, associations between letters and sounds, communication skills, and self-expression. Although we encourage our children to experiment with writing, our approach is to allow them the freedom to exercise their own creativity.
